Cameroon: Meme SDO restricts movement for two days

The Senior Divisional Officer of the Meme Division, South West region of Cameroon has prohibited the movement of persons and goods in the Division from tomorrow Saturday September 7, to Sunday September 8, 2019.

In a press release signed Thursday September 5, 2019, the Senior Divisional Officer of the Meme Division, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong informs the population of Kumba and its environ to stay home this weekend and resume activities Monday September 9, 2019.

“All markets, commercial stores, filing stations, commercial bikes, taxis and inter-urban transport are hereby prohibited to operate or circulate in Meme Division from Saturday the 7th to Sunday the 8th of September, 2019.”

According to the SDO, this move is attributed to the prevailing security situation in the Division and in Kumba in particular.

Going by the release, the prohibition does not concern vehicles of Administrative authorities, forces of law and order, ambulances, funerals, private vehicles and pharmacies.
