Cameroon: Mezam SDO issues strict measures for bike riders

SDO of Menoua has banned the circulation of bikes

The Senior Divisional Officer of the Mezam Division, North West region of Cameroon has issued strict requirements for bike riders in his area of jurisdiction.

Acommuniqué signed by the SDO, Songa Pierre Rene warrants commercial and non commercial motorcycle riders in the division to comply to the regulations or face sanctions.

For persons using motorcycles for commercial and non commercial reasons, they are expected to be in possession of a valid national identification card, a registration certificate of the motorcycle, the SDO said. In addition, Commercial motorcycle riders must have their tanks painted yellow and the rider dressed in the regulatory jacket.

The bike riders are alse expected to register themselves at the Bamenda City Council for those working within the town and at respective councils for those out of Bamenda.

The SDO has tasked the various security and administrative officials to ensure the strict respect of this measures while insisting defaulters shall be punished.
