Cameroon: National Assembly convened ahead of Biya’s innauguration

The National Assembly has been convened for an Ordinary Session on Friday November 2, 2018, the Speaker of the house Cavaye Yeguie Djibril has said.

The National Assembly will meet in the last Ordinary Session of the year as members of Government are expected to defend the state budget for the next financial year.

November’s session will equally be special given the fact that the re-elected Head of State Paul Biya will be innaugurated in the lower house of Assembly latest November 6 in line with the provisions of the law which provides fifteen days from the proclamation of the results.

The Constitutional Council last week announced Paul Biya winner of the October 7 polls with 71.28 percent of the votes ahead of Maurice Kamto.
