Cameroon: Paul Biya sends condolence message to Chadians following demise of President, Idriss Deby

Cameroon’s Head of State, Paul Biya has sent words of comfort to the Chadians following the death of their President, Idriss Deby Itno this Tuesday April ,20.


In a letter addressed to General Mahamat Idriss Deby, son of the late President, Paul says the death of the field marshal is a great loss for Chad, Central Africa and the continent as a whole.

Idriss Deby died this Tuseday April 20, succombing to injuries he sustained while commanding his army against rebel insurgents in the Northern part of the country over the weekend.

By the time of his demise, Idriss Deby was preparing for his sixth mandate as President of the Republic of Chad, a post he held since 1990.
