Cameroon: Paul Biya sworn in for another seven-year mandate

Cameroon’s President, Paul Biya has been sworn in for another seven-year term in office on November 6at the National Assembly.

The 85-year old was sworn in fifteen days after the Constitutional Council proclaimed him winner of the October 7 Presidential election.

Taking the floor, Paul Biya thanked all Cameroonians for the confidence bestowed on him to continue piloting the affairs of the country.

He reviewed successes of the just ended mandate and rolled out a series of  programs which he will put forth in the days ahead so as to make Cameroon an emergent nation by 2035.

Paul Biya also used the opportunity to address the crisis in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon as he said he will do all in his power to ensure peace returns to both regions.

For that to happen, he called on all Cameroonians to lend him their support in this mission as well as that of building a peaceful and prosperous Cameroon.
