The Prime Minister Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute will tomorrow Tuesday April 20 represent the Head of State at the funeral ceremony of Cameroon’s first and lone Cardinal to date, Christian Tumi, former Archbishop Emeritus of the Douala Archdiocese who began his journey to the land of no return this Monday April 19.
The information is contained in a release issued by the Prime Minister’s office.
The funeral ceremony will take place at the St Peter and Paul Cathedral in Douala.
The mortal remains of the prelate were coffined earlier this Monday April 19 at the mortuary of the Douala Military Hospital and are currently been displayed at the the St Peter and Paul Cathedral where a succession of masses are going on in honor of late Cardinal Tumi.
The prelate who was considered by many as the bridge between French speaking and English speaking Cameroonians died on April 3 aged 90.
