The French association, Agence universitaire de la Francophonie is holding a workshop on financial and administrative management of grants.
L’Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, AUF is getting set to launch its activities centered on the implementation of micro-projects. Beneficiaries of this aid are coming from Cameroon (three) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (two).
They are part of the Office for Development and Implementation of Communities with the BEM-PRODEC (a non governmental organisation) in DR Congo. Their projects are in support of local traditional knowledge and indigenous peoples aiming at mitigating the effects of climate change. Each of them have enjoyed a funding of between 98,393,550 CFA Francs and 101, 673, 335 CFA Francs.
In order to assure an effective use of this aid, the Promotion of Research, Innovation and Digital Culture in Central Africa with the AUF have decided to train the beneficiaries of the cited above aid.
The training taking place at the Chantal Biya International Reference Centre for research on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Management (CIRCB) provides tips to the different project leaders on the financial and administrative management of the grants they received.
It also gives the opportunity to make them understand the expectations of the members of the Consortium and the financial backers.
The Director of Projects at AUF, Sabine Lopez, said AUF and its partners through the PRICNA micro-projects will help foster collaboration between the various stakeholders. Moreover, it will encourage innovation within the sustainable development sphere thus reducing poverty in Central Africa.
