Cameroon: PWD Bamenda head coach kidnapped

The head coach of PWD of Bamenda Augustin Choupo was reportedly kidnapped this morning in Bamenda by unidentified gunmen, sources have said.

Sources say he was kidnapped this morning at their training ground as he was preparing his team for this weekeend’s League 1 game against New Stars of Douala.

The club is yet to make any official statement regarding his kidnapped but sources say security forces have already launched a search.

Augustin Choupo who who replaced Jean Baptiste Toguem just over a week ago as head coach of PWD Bamenda revived the club’s survival hopes with a two nil victory last Sunday against Union of Douala.

He is the second coach to be kidnapped in Bamenda in just under a month after former coach of Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso was kidnapped before he was later released
