Cameroon: Release Anglophone detainees before dialogue can begin, SDF tells Biya

The Social Democratic Front, SDF has called on the government to release all those arrested within the context of the Anglophone crisis before dialogue can begin.

The Chairman of the SDF Ni John Fru Ndi met with the Prime Minister, Head of Government Joseph Dion Ngute on Friday morning in Bamenda where the party presented its position on the crisis.

Ni John Fru Ndi said the SDF is ready to puch for and mediate in any proposed dialogue that aimed at resolving the conflict in the two regions but called for both sides to first start by dropping their weapons. He also called on the government to release all those arrested within the context of the crisis.

The Prime Minister yesterday revealed the Head of State is ready to dialogue on any topic except secession and separation but Ni John Fru Ndi went further today to say any form of dialogue must be well-structured.

John Fru Ndi said he is ready to meet Paul Biya to chart a way out of the crisis as the Prime Minister promised to channel his party’s proposals to the Head of State.
