The Social Democratic Front, SDF has announced it will boycott celebrations marking the National Day on May 20 across the national territory.
A communiqué signed by the Vice President of the party Honourable Joshua Osih says the party will boycott the event in “sympathy with Cameroonians living in a civil war in the North West and South West regions and thoe suffering from the severe insecurity crisis in the other parts of our country.”
As long as the “civil war” and the insecurity persists, the SDF can not take part in the May 20 celebrations, Joshua Osih added.
The SDF now joins the Cameroon Renaissance Movement in boycotting the National Day celebrations in protest to the ongoing conflict in the North West and South West regions.
Last year, the SDF staged a surprised parade at the May 20 boulevard with party supporters stripping off their tops infront of the Head of State at the grand stand to express their disappointment at his management of the crisis.
