Cameroon’s Senate President Marcel Niat Njifenji has returned to the country after a lengthy stay abroad fo health reasons.
Marcel Niat Njifenji was public in Yaounde for the first time on December 4 since he left the country over two months ago for medical treatment.
Doctors and family members have been forced to debunk persistent rumours circulating on social media that he had passed away.
He was seen on a rare occasion on October 7 in Paris, France where he left his hospital bed to go and cast his vote during the Presidential election.
His illness prevented him from attending several public events like the swearing in of the Head of State Paul Biya for a new mandate.
Due to his absence the just ended Senate session was chaired by the Vice President of the Upper House of Parliament.
