At least one person has been killed and several others kidnapped in Bangourain, Noun Division of the North West region after suspected separatist fighters attacked the locality on Saturday night.
It was a difficult morning on Sunday December 23 for inhabitants of Bangourain who got up to see over sixty houses burnt down following an attack from suspected separatist fighters.
The attacks took place precisely in the Choutpah and Mankefu neighbourhoods as the armed men injured several persons before stabbing to death a young man in his early thirties.
Several vehicles and other valuable items were burnt down before the men took off to their hide outs before security forces could arrive the scene.
Local authorities say investigations have been opened to track down the perpetrators and free the abductees. This is the second time Bangourain is coming under attack in just over a month after armed men kidnapped fishermen at a river in the locality last month.
