The United States Assistant Secretary for African Affairs Tibor Nagy has urged the government and separatists to engage in a dialogue without pre-conditions in order to guarantee an effective academic year in the Anglophone regions of the country.
In a tweet posted on his twitter account some twelve hours ago, Tibor Nagy expresses discontent with the fact that according to him education is compromised for the fourth consecutive year in Cameroon’s North West and South West regions owing to the inability of the government and separatists to arrive at a compromise.
“Education is the key to the future for all young people. It’s a tragedy that students in the Northwest and Southwest of Cameroon are going into a fourth year of no school. Both separatists and government need to enter into dialogue without preconditions.” He said.
After his first visit to Cameroon last May 2019, Tibor Nagy said before the US Congress Foreign Affairs Committee that the government of Cameroon had done nothing to resolve the Anglophone crisis.
