At least three workers of the waste management and disposal company Hysacam were reportedly kidnapped in Bamenda on Thursday by unidentified gunmen, sources have said.

The workers were kidnapped around their dump waste site in Mankon and one of their trucks equally taken away by the armed men.

This is the latest in a series of attacks carried out on the company and its workers since the escalation of the crisis in the Anglophone regions.

Earlier this year, the waste  management company suspended its activities in Bamenda following numerous attacks on its workers and the army was forced to carry out sporadic clean up campaigns to relieve the town of waste that was polluting the environment.

Hysacam was equally forced to suspeend its activities in Buea for the same reasons earlier this year.
