Cameroon: Two more Cameroonian Movies to be broadcast on Netflix

Two more Cameroonian movies, Broken and A Man for the weekend will begin streaming next month on Netflix, the world’s largest movie streaming platform.

The movies were recently acquired by the streaming platform through a partnership with the Omega 1 entertainment platform.

A Man for the Weekend and Broken, directed by actress Syndy Emade, will thus be premiering on June 16 and 22 respectively.

Many say this is a proof that he Cameroon movie industry is doing well, while others say this is a step ahead of the Nigerian movie industry that has been in spotlights in many decades now.

“I am very happy that Blue Rain Entertainment have made history with these movies, apart from being rewarded for my hard work, this deal grants the opportunity for our continent to reach a global audience,’’ Syndy Emade said.

I hope these movies will encourage Cameroonians to produce more movies, not just for me and the team but for Cameroonian filmmakers’’ she added.

The recent exploits bring to four, the number of Cameroonian movies on Netflix after Therapy and The Fisherman’s Diary made their debut on the platform last month.
