Cameroon: UK pays tributes to late Achidi Achu, first Anglophone PM

The United Kingdom has condoled with the Government of Cameroon over the loss of the country’s first Anglophone Prime Minister, former Senator Simon Achidi Achu who died Tuesday May 4.

 

In a tweet this Wednesday May 5, the British High Commission in Yaounde says the country is saddened by the death of the country’s former Prime Minister, Simon Achidi Achu.

The tweet further reads that the late State’s man served Cameroon with distinction over five decades and leaves behind a considerable legacy.

Simon Achidi Achu died Tuesday May 4 in USA aged 87 after suffering from ill health.

He served in diverse caskets but will highly be remembered for serving as first ever Anglophone Prime Minister in Cameroon from 1992 to 1996.

He has been described as one of the most down-to-earth State man the country has had as he was very opened to all classes in society.
