Cameroon: Vincent Aboubakar ruled out for months

Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar could miss next years Africa Cup of Nations with a knee injury that would keep him on the sidelines for at least six months.

The 26-year striker suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury on Friday as he was stretchered off the pitch during FC Porto’s one nil victory over Tondela.

The injury is a big blow for the striker who has scored four goals in six games for Porto this season and would now be racing to recover and stay fit ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to kick off in June next year.

Aboubakar id the latest Indomitable Lion to be sidelined after Armel Kana Biyick was hauled off at the 66 minute with a thigh injury as his side Kayserispor bowed to a two nil defeat against Besiktas.

Last week, Clinton Njie was ruled out for three weeks after picking up an injury just moments after coming on and scoring for Marseille in their 4-2 defeat against Lyon.
