Cameroon wins Fair Play trophy at 2018 AWCON in Ghana

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon won the Fair Play trophy at the just ended Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament after finishing third.

Though the Lionesses failef to qualify for the final, the recorded a 4-2 victory in the third place play off match against Mali to seal their place at next year’s world cup inFrance

The performances of the Indomitbale Lionesses earned them plaudits with four players nominated in team of the tournament.

Defender Claudine Meffometou, midfielders Raissa Feudjio and Marlyse Ngo Ndoumbouk and forward Aboudi Onguene were all included in the team of the tournament meanwhile Ngo Mbeleck was named on the substitutes’ bench. Cameroon was also named Fair Play team of the tournament.
