Cameroon: Bicec workers suspend strike

Workers of the BICEC bank Douala have suspended a strike that paralyzed transactions in the institution the whole of Monday June 10, 2019 following an agreement between the personnel and the management of the bank Monday evening.

After a meeting with the representatives of the personnel and the management of the bank Monday evening, negotiations slated for Wednesday June 12 were announced and the workers put an end to the strike.

According to reports, the workers had notified the bank about their strike action since July 2018 that had to do amongst others with the demand of the payment of their bonuses owned to them by the bank.

The workers had promised to continue with the strike action if the bank did nothing to address their worries.
