Some health facilities in Cameroon and China will synergise efforts and share experiences in order to boost their capacities in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is the outcome of an audience granted to the Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, HE Wang Yingwu by the Minister of Public Health Dr Malachie Manaouda.
During the audience that lasted over thirty minutes, both men discussed avenues of cooperation between the two countries especially in the health domain.
The Chinese Ambassador praised the efforts by the government of Cameroon in the fight against the COVID-19 and revealed at the end of the audience that hospitals in both countries will synergise efforts in order to reinforce the capacities of health personnel in the fight against the pandemic.
“We discussed on health cooperation between both countries especially in the common fight against the COVID-19. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, China and Cameroon have always joined forces to work together,” Ambassador Wang Yingwu said.
“China fully supports the measures put in place by the government to fight the pandemic
He went further to state that China has been an important partner in this fight by donating protection equipment as well as test kits.
“We are finalizing the process to donate the third badge of items and we will work in close collaboration with the government of Cameroon for this to materialize. We are equally ready to establish links between our hospitals, to share knowledge in order to reinforce the capacities of health workers,” he added.
