Cameroon:Close to 20 students suspended for Baccalaureat fraud

Close to 20 students from various schools across the country have been suspended after they were found guilty of examination fraud at the 2020 session of the Baccalaureat examinations.

According to a release signed by the Minister of Secondary Education, Professor NalovaLyonga, the students were found guilty before a disciplinary panel of various examination malpractices during the last session of the exams.

Most of the students concerned with the sanctions are based in the Littoral and the West Regions and are guilty of crimes such as getting into the hall with prepared examination materials, being in possession of examination question papers before time, sharing of leaked examination question papers as well as assisting in fraud.

Consequently, they have had their 2020 session of the Baccalaureat examination completely cancelled and suspended for the 2021 session.

The Minister of Secondary Education has charged the Director of the Office du Baccalaureat, the various Regional and Divisional Delegates, heads of centres and their assistants to ensure the strict implementation of the sanctions.
