Cameroon:Consignment of counterfeit pharmaceutical products seized in Melong

A consignment of counterfeit medicine and other pharmaceutical products has been seized in Melong, Mungo Division in the Littoral region by forces of law and order.

The items were impounded upon following an operation that was carried out last Thursday at the Melong market by a mixed team of police and gendarmes.

This operation resulted in the seizure of a large stock of counterfeit medicines and other pharmaceutical products, including 06 full and 02 half-full cartons, each containing glucose; and 09 cartons of various other pharmaceutical products.

The alleged stock owner, an individual aged 46, was caught in the act of selling these products in his store. He was arrested and taken to this Gendarmerie unit, where an investigation is ongoing, in cooperation with the relevant institutions in the matter.
