Effective vaccination against the Coronavirus has kicked off in some regions across the country after it was launched in Yaounde.

The vaccination exercise has been taken to the other regions with immediate effect with the exercise being supervised by the COVID-19 Incident Manager, Dr Alain Georges Etoundi Mballa in collaboration with all the Regional Delegates of Public Health.

In total, 243 vaccination sites have so far been set up across the country with doses already distributed to eight most affected regions.

On Tuesday, the Governor of the East Region, Grégoire Mvongo preached by example as he kicked started the exercise by receiving his own dose of the vaccine.

He was accompanied by the Regional Delegate of Public Health, Désiré Mintop who equally received his own dose before encouraging the population to do same while urging them to give a deaf ear to any rumour which might discourage them from getting the vaccine.

It was the same advice given to the population of the West Region, by the Governor Augustine Awa Fonka who equally succumbed to the exercise on Tuesday.
