Cameroon:Elecam intensifies preparations for Feb 9 polls

The elections management body, ELECAM, has intensified preparations ahead of the February 9 Legislative and Municipal elections.

The body held a session of right last weekend with members of the electoral board to discuss ways of holding a hitch free elections.

The meeting presided over by Board Chairman Enow Abrams Egbe saw the adoption of measures to hadle operations during the electoral period especially in the North West and South West Regions.

The Elecam board also took stock of the technical, financial and administrative preparations ahead of the elections.

Last week’s meeting came after a visit by Elecam to the National Printing Press, the Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation, SOPECAM and other printing houses to assess the quantity and quality of electoral material printed ahead of the February 9 polls.
