Cameroon:Paul Biya announces future crackdown on embezzlers of public funds

The Head of State, Paul Biya has hinted on an imminent crackdown of embezzlers of public funds in the days ahead.

In his traditional end of year speech to the nation on Friday, December 31, Paul Biya frowned at embezzlers of public funds which slow down the growth of the nation and promised anybody found guilty will be dealt with accordingly.

The warning from Paul Biya comes as there has been pressure on the Government to investigate and prosecute those found guilty of embezzling funds meant for the fight against COVID-19.

There have also been allegations of embezzlement surrounding the construction of the Olembe stadium.
