The Head of State Paul Biya has finally joined the cue to express his condolences to the Archdiocese of Douala following the death of the Archbishop Emeritus Christian Cardinal Tumi.
The prelate passed away on on the night of Friday breaking Saturday in Douala at the age of 91 after an illness. Immediately after his death was announced, the was an outpour of emotions across the board with all unanimous the prelate will be greatly missed.
However, it took over 48 hours for the Head of State Paul Biya to react to the death as he addressed a condolence letter on Monday, April 5 to the Archbishop of Douala Samuel Kleda.
In the letter, Paul Biya described Cardinal Tumi as a man who undisputedly marked the history of Cameroon.
“The message of peace, love and progress which he carried along his pastoral ministry will forever remain in our memories,” Paul Biya said.
