Renowned historian, Professor Victor Julius Ngoh has been appointed as the new President of the Catholic University Institute of the Diocese of Buea.
He was appointed on Thursday, June 11 by the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Buea, His Lordship Michael Bibi.
Professor Victor Julius Ngoh replaces the Reverend Father George Nkeze who has served as President and Pro-Chancellor of the institution. The Apostolic Administrator of Buea at the same time becomes the Chancellor and Pro Chancellor of the Catholic University Institute of the Diocese of Buea.
Professor Victor Julius Ngoh is not new to university administration after serving as Registrar then Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Research, Cooperation and Relations with the business world at the University of Buea.
He retired a couple of years ago as the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Teaching, Professionalization and Development of Information and Communication Technologies at the University of Bamenda.
There were equally other appointments at the Catholic University Institute of Buea, notably as well as the reconstitution of the Board of Trustees of the institution which includes members like Senator Mbella Moki Charles, Dr. Mrs. Frida Mbunda, Dr. Jane Francis Akoachere, Justice Kenneth Ako, and Barrister Emmanuel Kumfa. The board is completed by His Lordship Michael Bibi and two other clergymen; Father. Isaac Anuchem, the Episcopal Delegate and Father. Emmanuel Epie, the Diocesan Chancellor.
Bishop Michael Bibi said the appointments will all take effect from July 1 after the handing over ceremony.
