Cameroon’s 2017 cycling tour: more than 20 teams participating

Over 20 teams from Europe and Africa are taking part in this year’s International Cycling Tour of Cameroon which started on March 11

Out of the 66 cyclist, 12 Cameroonians cyclist from two teams notably SNH Velo Club and the Mixed Team will also be battling for a win. Going by the official calendar from the Cameroon Cycling Federation the first lap will run from Yaounde to Bafia covering a distance of 121 km while the second lap will take place the next day along the Bafoussam-Dschang-Bafoussam highway some 101 km long.

This year, Cameroonians will be counting on talents like Kamzong Abessolo who finished as best Cameroonian in the just ended Tropical Amissa Bngo cyling tour in Gabon. Abessolo occupied the 35th position on the overall classification table.  The goal for the Cameroon Cycling Federation is to work hard and grab the yellow jersey. The race to be run on a total distance of 956 kilometers will cover six regions of the country notably, the Centre, West, Littoral, South West, North West and South Regions.
