The late wife of Cameroon’s former President, Amadou Ahidjo is now resting beside the husband at the Yoff Muslem graveyard in the Senegalese city capital.

She was buried Wednesday April 21 following her demise in the night of Monday to Tuesday April 20, after suffering from a prolonged illness.

Germaine Ahidjo was buried beside her husband, Cameroon’s former Head of State, Amadou Ahidjo, who died 32 years ago in Senegal after he had gone on exile.

Reports say the late Germaine Ahidjo battled for the husband’s remains to be brought back to Cameroon for proper burial plus honors due on to him in vain.

She was of the opinion that the country had to organize the repatriation of former Head of State’s remains pertaining to his rank of ex President.

After she passed on, the present Head of State, Paul Biya sent words of comfort to the family, indicating the late Germaine was a lady with a great personality who together with her husband contributed in lifting up the face of the country.
