The Cameroon Association of Sports Journalists, CASJ has begun renewing the executive bureaus in the various regions.
After the national elections that held at the weekend in Yaounde, it was time for the Littoral and North West Regions to take the relay this weekend with elections.
In the Littoral Region, Marc Chouamo of Canal 2 International was elected President of the association after defeating his colleague Sylvain Kwambi, 24-19.
He heads a seven-man bureau comprised of CRTV’s Rene Katche Etchu as first Vice President while Patrice Biyo of Radio Sports Info was elected as Secretary General.
In his acceptance speech, Marc Chouamo promised to revive the association in the region and equally pledged to work for the professional growth of members in the region.
Elections also took place in the North West Region on Saturday with Richard Nde Lajong, Publisher of the Herald Tribune elected President of the Association.
Wanchia Cynthia of The Guardian Post was voted Vice President of the CASJ-NW chapter while Nji Chefor Nelson of Rush FM was voted as the Secretary General
Adter his installation, newly-elected President Richard Nde Lajong said his team will work in collaboration with specialised sports organs in the region, notably CENAJES and FECAFOOT to improve on the capacities of members in the region. This he said will be done, through regular trainings and workshops. He used the opportunity to send a rallying cry to all members to take active part in events organised by the association.
