Human rights lawyer and defender Felix Agbor Nkongho aka Agbor Balla has hailed the deceased Archbishop Emeritus of Douala, Christian Cardinal Tumi as an advocate of a just society.
Cardinal Tumi passed away on the night of Friday breaking Saturday in Douala at the age of 91 after battling with illness, prompting an outpour of emotions from the entire nation.
Cardinal Tumi’s contribution to nation building was immense that tributes poured from all corners. According to Agbor Balla who shared some of his fine moments with Cardinal Tumi, the prelate’s death is a big loss to the nation given that he was the voice of the oppressed.
“Christian Cardinal Tumi was the first and only Cameroonian Cardinal. He was a staunch advocate of for a just society, a defender of the rights of the oppressed, suppressed and marginalized. His death is a great loss to our nation and humanity. May he find eternal rest in the Lord,” Agbor Balla said.
