Cameroon:UN Human rights Commissioner meets with political parties

Kah Walla and other political leaders met with the UN human rights commissioner

The visiting United Nations High Commissioner for Human rights Michelle Veronique Bachelet is meeting with political parties and civil society actors today to discuss the human rights situation in Cameroon.

The political parties are expected to present a global overview of the human rights situation in Cameroon with focus on the Far North, South West and North West regions of Cameroon.

The leader of the Cameroon Peoples Party, CPP, Edith Kah Walla has already made a broad presentation in the meeting where she has frowned on the human rights situation in th country and called for the regime in place to respect the freedoms of its citizens.

Other political parties present include the Cameroon Renaissance Movement represented by Barristers Emmanuel Simh aand Ndong Christopher, PURS represented by its leader Serge Espoir Matomba, Cabral Libii of the 11 million citizens, Garga Haman Adji of the ADD.

The political parties have all told the UN human rights head that they are unable to express themselves as the regime in place is always ready to crack down on them.
