    • Cameroon: NW CPDM elite pay tributes to late Achidi Achu

      Hundreds of elite of the North West region of Cameroon last Saturday communed with the family of late Simon Achidi Achu, first Anglophone Prime Minister in Yaounde.

      During the condolence visit, the late politician was described as a patriot who served Cameroon with humility and integrity.

      The late State man who died last month in the USA will be laid to rest on July 3 in the North West region where he hails from.

    • Cameroon: 1000 immunized against COVID-19

      More than 1000 people have so far been vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic in Cameroon three months into the national immunization campaign.

      The information was disclosed by the Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda.

      An intensive immunization campaign will run from the 7th to the 11th of July to have as many people as possible vaccinated to get to the targeted number of 5% of the population.


    • Cameroon: MPs examine water, energy challenges in special plenary sitting

      A special plenary sitting to examine the challenges of water and energy in Cameroon takes place this Monday at the National Assembly.

      The Minister of Water and Energy and the Directors General of ENEO, CAMWATER, SONATREL and Arsel are expected to enlighten the law makers on the measures taken to address the frequent power outages and difficulties in accessing potable water all through the country.

      Deliberations will be chaired by the Speaker, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.

    • Cameroon: Lifeless body of new born discovered on bridge in Bafoussam

      Investigations are on course to track down a lady who abandoned a new born baby at a bridge in Banengou Gabon bar neighborhood in Bafoussam I subdivision, West region of Cameroon.

      The lifeless body of the new born was discovered by some kids who were in search of objects they could recycled.

      The corpse was handed over to army rescue unit who later on buried it.

      He was honored at the end of an audience granted him by President Paul Biya at the Unity Palace Wednesday June 23 on investment opportunities in the country.

      During the audience, Aliko Dangote announced his intentions to invest in the petroleum and gas sectors.

    • Cameroon: Teenage raped on her way back from school in Douala

      A 12-year-old school girl is reported to have been raped on her way back from collecting her report booklet Tuesday June 22 at the Nyalla district neighborhood in Douala.

      The scene reportedly took place around Entrée-Jeunesse. Little Sandra was allegedly kidnapped by an individual with a strong drug addiction who later on raped her.

      The rapist has been arrested.

      The Minister of Public Health Dr Malachie Manaouda is currently briefing Members of Parliament on the state of the ongoing anti-COVID-19 vaccination in the country and plans to provide Universal health coverage to Cameroonians at a special plenary sitting.

      Talking on the rate of COVID-19 vaccination, Minister Malachie Manaouda told the law makers that the rate is still very low due to vaccine hesitancy.

      As for the Universal health insurance coverage plan, he indicated that the overall rate in Cameroon stands at 45.9%, over 4% less than the required standard.



    • Cameroon: AU congratulates Gov’t for ratifying treaty to set up African Medicine Agency

      The African Union has congratulated the Government of Cameroon for ratifying the treaty enabling the continental body to set up an African Medicine Agency that will improve access to quality drugs on the continent.

      AU Ambassador for the African Medicine Agency, Michel Sidibe was speaking Tuesday June 22 after an audience granted him by the Prime Minister Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute.

      Th parliament adopted the bill to ratify the treaty during the ongoing June session pending promulgation by the President of the Republic.

    • Cameroon: Garbage transformation plant goes operational in Dschang

      A garbage transformation plant has been inaugurated in Dschang, West region of Cameroon.
      The inauguration ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Decentralization and Local Development, George Elanga Obam this Tuesday June 22.
      The plant has a capacity of treating 105 tons of garbage each month and majority of these transformed wastes shall be sold out to farmers as fertilizer.
