Cameroon: Foundation offers books to GBHS Bafoussam
- 13h46The United Bank for Africa Foundation has offered 1000 books to student of the Government Bilingual High School Bafoussam in the Mifi Division, West region.
They made this donation last Saturday June 19 on school campus.
These books have been stored at the school library and will be given to the best students at the end of the year.

Cameroon: Over 200 cases of measles recorded nationwide
- 12h54Cameroon counts over 200 cases of measles recorded in seven out of the country’s ten region.
According health officials, the localities of Yokaduma in the East region and Ntui in the Centre are the most hit by the infectious disease.
Out of the over 200 cases, four deaths have been so far recorded.

Cameroon: Gov’t to launch COVID-19 intensive vaccination campaign on July 7

According to a release signed by the Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda, the campaign is opened to those aged 18 and above and will run til July 11.

Cameroon: Audit bench final report on COVID-19 fund management to be published this week

Cameroon: 1,500 artistes begin receiving salaries amounting to FCFA 112 million
- 14h391,500 artistes in Cameroon begin receiving their salaries amounting to FCFA 112 million this Monday June 21, celebrated as World Music Day.
The information was made known by the president of the Cameroon National Music Art Corporation SONACAM, Ateh Bazore recently on State media.
According to SONACAM boos, shares will move from FCFA 50,000 to 250,000 for those who double as artistes and producers. -

CAF Cup: Algeria’s JS Kabylie humbles Coton sport 2-1 in semi-final first leg in Yaounde
- 14h22Coton sport of Garoua has bowed to JS Kabylie of Algeria 1-2 in a match counting for the semi final first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium Sunday June 20.
The second leg will be played in Algeria in one week. To sail to the final, Coton sport will have to lead their Algerian counterparts by two goals because of JS Kabylie’s 2-1 away game victory on the Cameroonian turf.

Cameroon, UN Systems launch joint initiative to reduce HIV infections in young girls
CRTV - 14h07The Government of Cameroon and the United Nations Systems have launched a joint initiative to reduce HIV infections in young girls in the country.
The initiative aims at promoting the education of the girl child and encourage young girls to complete their studies.
The ceremony yo launch the initiative this Monday June 21 was presided at by the Prime Minister Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute.
It was attended among others by the Coordinator of the UN Systems in Cameroon.

Cameroon: One of six abducted Divisional Delegates in Ndian reportedly killed in captivity
- 18h33One of six Divisional Delegates working in Ndian, South West region of Cameroon abducted last Tuesday June 15 by armed separatist is reported to have been killed in captivity.
The corpse of Johnson Mudika Mabia, Divisional Delegate of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development was taken to Limbe this afternoon.
Sources say the head of the fighters that abducted the government officials, ‘Commander’ 10 Kobo earlier said he wasn’t interested in any ransom that could make security forces trace them.
He added that he was going to use the officials to set an example.

Cameroon gets FCFA 106B loan from ADB to finance construction of ring road in NW
- 18h18The Government of Cameroon will get a FCFA 106 billion loan from the African Development Bank for the construction of the Ring Road in the North West region that links six of the seven Divisions of the region and other parts of neighboring Nigeria.
This is the substance of an agreement that was signed this Friday June 18 between the Government represented by its Minister Alimine Ousman Mey and the African Development Bank represented by its Director General for Central Africa.

Cameroon: Military announces more operations in Bui to clean it off separatists
- 14h56The Commander of the 5th Joint Military Region, Brigadier General Nka Valere has announced more military operations in Bui in the restive North West region of Cameroon to clean the Department off separatist fighters who have taken up arms against the State.
General Nka Valere made the announcement last Tuesday June 15 in Kumbo in a mission to size up the situation following a 32-day Special Operation that took elements of the defence and security forces to some camps of separatist fighters in the area.

Cameroon: Gov’t says vaccination is only sure way to guarantee herd COVID-19 immunity
- 13h41The Government of Cameroon has once again reassured the population on the efficiency of the COVID-19 vaccines available on its soil to provide them with the immunity they need against the deadly COVID-19 virus.
The reassurance was given Wednesday June 16 during a joint press conference by the Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda and his counterpart from the Ministry of Communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi.
The joint press conference aimed at wearing off the fears of the population on the vaccine in a bit to encourage those who are still hesitating to take the vaccine.

Female Handball AFCON: Cameroon faces Angola in final for second time after 2004
