      Cameroonians leaving in Equatorial Guinea have been banned from filing complaints gainst their brothers.

      This is the substance of a release issued by the country’s Ambassador to the neighbouring country, Désiré Jean Claude Owono Menguele.

      It indicates that legal proceedings can be engaged only if all avenues for a consensus have been exhausted.

    • 2020 Paralympic Games: Team Cameroon in Tomakomai

      Ahead of the 2020 Paralympic Games in Japan from August 24 to September 5, team Cameroon arrived in Tomakomai Monday August 09 for a two-week aclimatization training camp.

      They are 11 in number, including the three athletes to represent the country, two in athletics and the other in powerlifting.

    • Cameroon: Journalism association launches COVID-19 Media Award

      The association of scientific journalists in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance has launched an Award to reward media men on what they produced as content on the deadly COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination.

      The award launched last August 4 aims at sensitizing the population on the need to get themselves vaccinated.

    • Cameroon receives 158 000 doses of one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccin via AVAT

      The Government o Cameroon has received the first contingent of the Johnson and Johnson Vaccine supplied to African Union member countries through a coordinated platform dubbed African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT).

      The contingent made up of 158.400 of the vaccines was received last Sunday at the Yaounde Nsimalen International airport.
      According to the Director of the Central African Bureau of the UN Economic Community for Central Africa, Anthonio Pedro, the essence of the AU’s networking initiative is to find solutions to acquire these vaccines for the African population.

    • Cameroon: 300 special pig species expected to boost production to be imported come September

      Some 300 special species of pigs said to have a production capacity of 24 piglets as against eight for the local ones will be imported into Cameroon come September.

      The information was made public by the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries. It wil be made possible thanks to the Livestock Development Project.

    • Cameroon: Parfait Siki is new Fecafoot’s interim SG

      Parfait Nicolas Awono Siki is the new interim Secretary General of the Cameroon Football Federation.

      He was appointed by the Federation’s interim President, Seidou Mbombo Njoya.

      He equally assures the office of Communications officier at the country’s governing football federation.

      Parfait Siki is henceforth at the centre of the electoral process that began within the Federation and is expected to end with the election of the organ’s new President come October.

    • Cameroon: Contraband pharmaceutical drugs seized

      Elements of the zone 3 Halcomi operation have intercepted a cargo containing 200 bottles of Mebendazole and 40 bottles of Brustan sirup in the Logone and Chari Division, Far North region.

      The seizure was made this Monday August 09.

      Earlier today, the Commander of the Customs Brigade and Coordinator of the Halcomi operation for zone 3, Jude Mufor presented 11 cargos of android phones and accessories plus other goods seized recently.

       

    • Cameroon: Three soldiers killed in fresh Boko Haram attack in Sagmé

      Three soldiers are said to have lost their lives in a new attack by the Boko Haram islamist sect in Sagme, Fotokol, in the Logone and Chari Division of the Far North region.

      The attack last night equally left at least one terrorist dead.

    • Cameroon: Kamto’s former ally, Christian Penda Ekoka dies

      Politician and former ally to prominent political party leader, Prof Maurice Kamto of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement, Christian Penda Ekoka is no more.

      He died Sunday August 8 from reported pancreatic cancer at the Princess Margaret Cancer CCenter in Toronto, Cananda.

      The economist had been announced death few days ago.

    • Cameroon: CPDM begins renewal of basic organs today

      The ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM this Saturday August 07 begins an exercise to renew its basic organs and specialized organizations.

      The nationwide exercise in the party’s 360 sections in Cameroon and 17 abroad.

      According to a cercular signed by the party’s National Chairman, President Paul Biya, the exercise will run to the 30th of September.

      A vigilante group has been created in Bamboutos division, West region of Camerooon with the aim of “repelling Ambazonian Fighters” from the neighbouring North West Region.

      For some few months now, the West region has been the scene of deadly attacks perpetrated by suspected ambazonia fighters.

      Cameroon joins the rest of the globe to observe th 2021 edition of the International Beer Day.

      The International Beer Day is celebrated on the first Friday of every August founded in 2007 in Santa Cruz, California by Jesse Avshalomov.

      Since its inception, the International Beer Day has grown from a small localized event in the western United States into a worldwide celebration spanning 207 cities, 80 countries and 6 continents. Specifically, International Beer Day has three declared purposes:

      1. To gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer,
      2. To celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer,
      3. And to unite the world under the banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations together on a single day.

       

    • Cameroon: CPDM Senator Dr. Bertrand Amougou laid to rest in Ebolowa

      The CPDM Senator for the Mvila Division in the South region, Dr Bertrand Amougou who passed on to glory last August 3 has been laid to rest.

      He was buried this Friday in Ebolowa in a funreral ceremony attended by Pr Jacques Fame Ndongo, Head of the CPDM regional Permenent Delegation for the South, the Governor of the region, Senators and other Government officials.

      The late Senator Bertrand Amougou was head of the Permenent Delegation of the CPDM Cenytral Committee for the Mvila Division, South region.

    • Cameroon: Public Health Ministry hands over first Immunization Champion Awards

      The maiden edition of the Immunization Champion Awards have been launched by the Ministry of Publuc Health.

      In line with this, the Sectretary General at the Ministry of Public Health, Prof Louis Richard Njock handed over awards to representatives of WHO, UNICEF, Family Club, NITAG and SOCAPED plus other organs involved in advocacy for immunization.

      The event that took place this Friday August 06 is part of commemorations of the World Immunization Week that was observed from April 24 to April 30.

      Cameroon’s standard bearer and last standing athlete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, wrestler Emilienne Essombe Tiako has been overpowered in her first outing in the tournament ten-zero in the women’s 53 kilograms freestyle.

      She lost within 2minutes few seconds to two-time world champion, Japan’s Mayu Mukaida.

      She will wait for the other results and hope that Mayu Mukaida sails through to the final tobe able to compete for the bronze medal via a rescue system dubbed repechage.

      Health personnel at the Bertoua Regional Hospital in the East region have been equipped to enable them provide adequate care and control to new borns as well as vaccination and prevention against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

      This was possible thanks to the contribution of CIDCA.  It will ensure quality care and services to mothers, new borns and children.

    • Cameroon: 800 cartons of contraband canned drinks seized in Nomayos

      800 cartons of canned drinks illegally smuggled into the country have been intercepted by elements of the Customs Brigade in Nomayos, Centre region of Cameoron.

      According to reports, this is the biggest seizure in can drinks made by the Cameroon Customs in the last two years.

    • Cameroon: Secondary Education boss wants exam registration fees paid before start of academic year

      The Minister of Secondary Education, Prof Pauline Irene Nguene has asked that all official exam registration fees be paid before the start of the academic year.

      In a release signed on August 3, she says all exam fees for the 2021/2022 academic year will be paid begining August 9 via clearly stated financial institutions.

      Nkotti Francois celebrated last March his 5à years of career as a musician.

      The CPDM scribe for the Mvila in the South region passed out last night at the Yaounde general hospital after following an illness.

      His death comes three months after senator V.E Mukete.

    • Cameroon: List of 3000 primary school teachers recruited under PAREC for 2020 published

      A list of some 3000 primary school teachers recruited under Cameroon’s educational reform support program dubbed PAREC for the year 2020 has been made public by the Ministries of Basic Education and Public Service and Administrative Reforms.

      The information was made public last week by Pr Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa of Basic Education during a Press conference at the conference hall of his ministerial department.

    • Cameroon: Mayor of Bangangte Council officially takes office

      The recently elected Mayor of the Council of Bangangte in the Nde Division, West region of Cameroon, Eric Aime Niat has been officially commissioned into his functions.

      Installing him was the SDO for Nde who exhorted him to work for th interest of the seven chiefdoms in the municipality with impartiality.

    • Tokyo 2020 Games: Only one Cameroonian left in competition

      As the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games draw to an end, Cameroonian athletes are equally gradualy pulling out of the competition.

      Out of the 12 who went to represent the green, red, yellow, only 1 is left, flag bearer Emilinne Tiako who enters into competition on Thursday.

      Team Cameroon bows out of the competition with no medal yet.

    • Cameroonian-born Alexis Tcheuyap appointed vice Chancellor of Toronto University, Canada

      Cameroonian-born Alexis Tcheuyap has been appointed vice Cnacellor of the University of Toronto in Canada.

      He is a former student of the University of Yaounde I. After obtaining his degree in bilingual letters, his masters in African Litterature and his PhD, he travelled to Canada.
