Cameroon: Gov’t distributes more support to beneficiaries of special youth plan- 11h19
Beneficiaries of the three-year Special Youth plan in Dschang, West region and Bamenda, North West region of Cameroon will receive material and financial support this Friday and Saturday.
The support will be handed over to them during a ceremony chaired by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou.
The distribution exercise kicked of last October 30 in Douala.
84 refugee children born in Cameroon get birth certificates- 11h08
Eighty-four refugee children who were born in Cameroon have received their birth certificates.
The documents which were established thanks to the intervention of the United Nations Refugee agency was handed over to their parents during a workshop in Douala recently.
The workshop that brought together about sixty Government stakeholders was aimed at keeping participants up to date with existing norms to be better protect the rights of refugees.
Cameroon: Senate condemns Kumba massacre- 10h52
The Senate has condemned the barbaric killing of seven children during an attack on a school in Kumba, South West region of Cameroon last October 24.
Speaking on behalf on behalf of Senators, the Senior Vice President, Aboubakari Abdoulai said the time has come for the Government to prosecute and punish those responsible such heinous acts as well as those sponsoring the killing of innocent people in the Anglophone regions.

AFCON 2022 qualifiers: Cameroon tussles with Mozambique for group F leadership- 13h24
The indomitable lions of Cameroon will face their counterparts from Mozambique later this Thursday November 12 at the Douala Reunification Stadium in the first leg of a confrontation for the leadership of Group F counting for the third round of qualifiers of the 2022 African Cup of Nations.
Due to the need to respect COVID-19 barrier measures, the match will be played without fans.

Cameroon’s indomitable lions have had their third training sessions in Douala ahead of tomorrow’s first leg against Mozambique counting for the third round qualifiers for the 2022 African Cup of Nations.
The match will be played at the Douala Reunification Stadium in camera due to Coronavirus.

Reports from the two houses say focus will be on the adoption of the 2021 State budget.
Cameroon: 24 students, teacher in Douala contract COVID-19- 15h59
About twenty-four students and one teacher in Douala have tested positive for the Coronavirus pandemic.
The information was disclosed Tuesday November 10 after COVID-19 teams went round schools.
The infected persons are currently receiving treatment.

Cameroon: Biya regulates Inter-Ministerial Committee on Local Services- 15h09
The Head of State, Paul Biya Monday November 10 signed a decree to lay down the organization and functioning of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Local Services.
According to the decree, the Committee which shall be under the authority of the Minister in charge of regional and local authoritieswill be among other charges responsible for preparing and following up the transfer of authority and resources to Regional and Local Authorities.

Members of the National Road Board are currently meeting in the 23rd session of the body taking place via video conference under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute.
The board brings together representatives from the public and private sectors, the civil society and road users.
It seeks to establish dialogue between the actors of the road sector via permanent consultations and meetings aimed at coordinating road sector operations, projects and policies.

Cameroon: Gov’t evaluates security situation in restive SW region- 15h39
The Minister of State in charge of Defence at the Presidency of the Republic, Joseph Beti Assomo is currently holding a meeting with authorities of the South West region of Cameroon to evaluate the security situation in the region.
This meeting follows a series of attacks on schools in the region by suspected separatist fighters.
After Buea, Minister Joseph Beti Assomo will head to Kumba where the first attack took place at the Mother Francisca International Bilingual Academy.

Cameroon: Fru Ndi condemns kidnap of Nso Fon, calls for his release- 17h46
The Chairman of the Social Democratic Front party, Ni John Fru Ndi has strongly condemned the kidnap of His Eminence Christian Cardinal Tumi and the Fon of Nso in Kumbo, Bui Division of the North West region of Cameroon by gunmen believed to be separatist fighters.
Speaking to CRTV’s journalists, the political leader called for the release of the Nso Fon whose whereabouts remain unknown close to 24 hours after he was picked up on his way back to his palace after over one year of absence due to insecurity.

Cameroon: 100 farmers in F/N region trained on best crop production techniques- 16h45
About 100 farmers in the Logone and Chari Division of the Far North region of Cameroon are receiving training on the best crop production techniques.
The initiative powered by a cooperation between Cameroon and Switzerland seeks to empower farmers in the field of agriculture in a bit to alleviate poverty and ensure food security in that part of the country.
This project will enabl the farmers cultivate between the dry and the rainy seasons to ensure value chain production, maximize profit and provide wide range of food choices to consumers.
Cameroon: Vaccination campaign against small ruminant plagues launched in Northern regions- 16h39
A vaccination campaign against small ruminant plagues has been launched in the three Northern regions of Cameroon.
The campaign was launched today by the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr Taiga.
Cattle rearers have been called upon to adhere to the campaign so as to protect their animals.
African Judo open tournament: Competitors begin arriving Cameroon- 16h14
Eight countries to participate in the African Judo open tournament are already in Cameroon ahead of the competition to qualify athletes for the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.
The draw for the tournament will be unveiled later this evening.
More countries are expected to arrive this evening for the game.
Cameroon: Kidnapped Cardinal Tumi freed- 12h30
Christian Cardinal Tumi, kidnapped last evening in Kumbo, North West region of Cameroon by unidentified gunmen has been freed.
According to reports, the prelate was released this Friday November 6 in Babessi.
Before his release, the people of Babessi together with religious leaders stormed the streets to insearch of the Cardinal.
He was kidnapped alongside the Fon of Nso and some ten people who were with them on their way to Nso.
Cardinal Tumi is the only person reported to have been released.

Cameroon: CRTV’s Mireille Lambo begins final journey- 16h48
The ace journalist Mireille Lambo of the State broadcaster Cameroon Radio Television, CRTV who died Tuesday October 27 begins journey to the land of no return this Thursday November 5.
The remains of the journalist were coffined this afternoon at the Djoungolo hospital after which they were conveyed to the broadcasting house for professional honors.
Mireille will be laid to rest Saturday November 7 in her native Batcham in the West region.

The Prime Minister Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute will tomorrow Thursday November 5 preside over the funeral ceremony of the seven kids brutally murdered during an attack on a school in Kumba, South West region of Cameroon.
The kids were killed Saturday October 24 by unidentified gunmen.

The Head of State Paul Biya Tuesday November 3 signed a number of four decrees promoting police officials to varying grades.
Among these decrees was that which promoted superintendent of police to senior police superintendent and that of police commissioners.
Cameroon: Bishops strongly condemn Kumba massacre- 14h19
Bishops in Cameroon have condemned in strong terms the barbaric killing of seven kids attending lessons at the Mother Francisca Bilingual International Academy, Kumba during an attack by unidentified gunmen o October 24.
They made known their disapproval Tuesday November 3 in Yaounde during the 45th plenary sitting of Bishops in Cameroon underway at the National Episcopal Conference.
They unanimously considered the act as senseless and called on warring parties to drop arms and talk peace.

Fire has consumed a good number of houses i the Kakatare neighbourhood in Maroua, Far North region of Cameroon.
No human loss was recorded but material damage caused is said to be enormous.

Cameroonian international goalkeeper, Andre Onana who plays club football with Ajax Amsterdam has tested positive for the Coronavirus pandemic.
The 24 year old player and 9 other Amsterdam players have tested positive and are amongst those absent for the club’s Champions League game Dannish side FC MIDTYLLAND
Onana is part of the Indomitable Lions squad to face Mozambique in a double confrontation as part of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations Qualification, AFCON on November 12 and 16.
