      SVAFF is exclusively focused on films made by filmmakers from Africa and its diaspora. The festival has built a substantial following and has become an annual destination film event that draws out of state and international guests to Silicon Valley.

      The Government of Cameroon has received more than 300,000 doses of the American Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine to boost its capacity to get a maximum number of Cameroonians vaccinated against the deadly pandemic.

      The vaccine which is a gift from the American Government was received Wednesday July 21 at the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport by health officials.

    • Cameroon: Gov’t bans planned MRC protest slated for Sunday July 25 over COVID-19 spread

      The Divisional Officer for Yaounde I, Harouna Nyandji Mgbatou has banned a planned ‘peaceful’ protest by the Camroon Renaissance Movement party of Prof Maurice Kamto.

      In the prefectural order signed Wednesday July 21, the DO says such protest could encourage the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic the country is still grappling with and provoke public disorder.

      The Cameroon Renaissance Movement has planned to move around the streets of Yaounde Sunday July 25 in what it has called a mega republican protest meant to promote living together, call for peace in the two English speaking regions, show solidarity to the population of the Far North suffering i the hands of Boo Haram attacks among others.

    • Cameroon: Six die in road accident in Bafoussam

      The accident occurred when the two engines entered on a head on collision on the Bafoussam road.

      The Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development, Gabriel Dodo Ndoke has lifted a ban imposed on Sano mineral water of Sana SA.

      The mineral water was suspended for operating in an environment judged uncomfortable and the ban lifted after countless missions from the Ministry.

      The Ministerial order lifting the ban was signed on July 3.

    • AFCON 2021: Draw ceremony scheduled for August 15 in Yaounde

      The Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football, CAF Veron Mosengo Omba has announced that the draw ceremony of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON will take place on the 15th of August at the Yaounde Conference Centre.

      The ceremony was originally slated for July 25.

      The competition kicks off in January 2022.

      Accused of having sexually abused an 18-year-old girl identified ans Malicka Bayemi and published videos of the sex scenes online, ace sports commentator Martin Camus and accomplice, Wilfried Eteki have been reportedly transferred to the New-Bell prison in Douala.

      The two men appeared before the State Prosecutor yesterday Thursday July 15 after they were arrested and detained by the Douala Judicial police after the young girl’s hearing.
