      The money was given to the institution’s Board of Directors Thursday July 15.

    • Cameroon: CAF validates AFCON 2021 mascot mola, anthem

      The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has validated the mascot and anthem proposed by the Local Organizing Committee of the 2021 African Cup of Nations for the competition.

      The mascot is named Mola and the anthem was composed by the Africa smile team. They were unveiled in the month of May in Yaounde.

    • Cameroon: Malaria kills about 31 daily according to health experts

      An average of 31 people are said to die everyday due to malaria in Cameroon.

      This information was known by the Permanent Secretary of the National Malaria Control Programme, Dr Joel Ateba at the launching ceremony of the first National Task Force to fight against the disease.

      A man and his wife in Bertoua, East region of Cameroon are currently in police custody for allegedly torturing three of the man’s children, leading to the death of one of them.

       

    • Cameroon: Gov’t plans to launch another national COVID-19 vaccination campaign in August

      The Government of Cameroon will organize another national COVID-19 vaccination campaign by mid August to enable those that have taken the first dose to receive the second one.

      The information was made known Thursday July 15 by the Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda during a press conference.

      The Health boss stressed on the necessity to continue observing anti-COVID-19 prescribed measures to curb the spread of the pandemic.

      As at now, the country counts close to 90,000 confirmed cases.

    • Cameroon: Gov’t approves Mgr Kleda’s COVID-19 herbal cures

      The Government of Cameroon has approved the use of two more traditional medicines concocted by Mgr Samuel Klead’s as a supplement to the treatment of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

      The two herbal cures are ADSAK COVID, 15 milliliter bottle  and ELIXIR COVID, 125 milliliter bottle.

      The products are valid for a period of three years.

      This approval follows that of Corocur, invented by Dr Euloge Mfopou, an award-winning cardiologist and researcher.

       

    • Cameroonians urged to be vigilant when enrolling for passport online

      The Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele has urged Cameroonians to be vigilant and responsible when ever they want to apply for their passports.

      This comes after the official passport enrollment website was duplicated by hackers.

      In a release issued Thursday July 15, the Delegate General says the official website made available for pre-enrollement formalities is www.passcam.cm.

    • Biya, Buhari take fresh commitment to silence secessionist movements

      Cameroon’s President Paul Biya and Nigerian counterpart have taken a fresh commitment to crush secessionist movements.

      A deal to that effect was signed Tuesday July 13 during an audience granted Nigeria’s Mohammadu Buhari to Minister Felix Mbayu, envoy of President Paul Biya in Abuja.

      During the audience, Minister Felix Mbayu handed over a sealed message from Paul Biya to Mohammadu Buhari.

      Reports have it that President Paul Biya through his envoy congratulated Nigeria over the rearrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) recently.

       

    • Cameroon: Late Erika’s father demands compensation from Tenor

      Jean Georges Mouliom, father of late Erika Nfiya Mouliom who died following an accident involving a car belonging to Cameroonian rapper Tenor early this Thursday in Douala has asked for compensation.

      In a video that went viral, the father says Tenor should recover and come over to Bamoun, the native land of the late girl to pay the dowry of his child.

      Reports say Jean Georges has removed the corpse of the daughter from the Mortuary of the Douala Laquintinie Hospital where it was transported en route to the Noun Division in the West region.

       

    • Cameroon: Professional Football League definitely dissolved

      The Cameroon Professional Football League has definitely been dissolved and a new one expected to be created.

      During the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Cameroon Football Federation, Fecafoot last Tuesday, the delegates at the gathering unanimously voted for the complete dissolution of the league and announced the creation of a new one.

      It was led by General Pierre Semengue.

    • Cameoron/Sex tape scandal: Martin Camus in police custody in Douala

      Ace sports commentator, Martin Camus Mimb and his friend Wilfied Eteki are currently detained at the Douala Regional Judicial Police station for their possible involvement in a sex tape that went viral last month, featuring a young girl in sex scenes.

      Both men will be spending their second day in police custody after they were arrested Wednesday following a hearing from the victim, 18-year-old Malicka Bayemi.

       

    • Cameroon: Olembe Stadium to host test match on September 2

      The 60,000 capacity Olembe stadium in Cameroon will host its first international encounter on September 2.

      The match will serve as a test one for the newly constructed stadium ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations that begins in January 2022.

      The information was made known by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi on working visit to the Olembe Sports Complex yesterday Wednesday July 14.

      Cameroon’s official passport website has been duplicated by hackers. The fake website presents the same characteristics with the official one but for the domain name.

      The official passport website has .cm as domain name meanwhile that of the hacked one ends with .com.

    • Cameroon: Artiste Tenor sustains severe injuries in car accident in Douala

      Cameroonian artiste Tenor is reported to have sustained severe injuries after his car crushed an electric pole and burnt down instantly in Douala early this Thursday July 15.

      Sources say the artiste was onboard the vehicle with a lady and the driver. The lady is said to have died on the spot, meanwhile Tenor and the driver sustained injuries.

      They were on their way back from a concert at the French cultural institute in Akwa.

    • Cameroon: Amba fighters decapitate two gendarmes in West region

      Two gendarmes have been cruelly murdered in an attack by suspected separatist fighters at control post in Zavion, a locality in Babadjou, Bamboutos Division in the West region of Cameroon, border region to troubled hit North West region.

      According to the Governor of the West region, Awa Fonka Augustine, the attack took place early this Wednesday morning.

      One person is reported to have lost his life and several others seriously injured after a five-storey building in construction collapsed in Douala.

      Reports say the incident occurred when the workers were busy pouring the slab for the sixth floor.

      The statutes were adopted at the end of a highly contested Extraordinary General Assembly that took place Tuesday July 13 all day long under the chair of the interim President, Seidou Mbombo Njoya.

      The adoption of these texts paves the way for new elections within the country’s football governing body.

    • Cameroon: Health boss discusses COVID-19 response mechanisms with collaborators
