China awards 100 more scholarships to Mozambican youth

Chinese ambassador to Mozambique, Su Jiain said his country will increase support for training Mozambican youth by awarding another 100 scholarships to pursue university studies in the Asian nation,The diplomat said currently there are about 500 Mozambicans studying in China and more than 100 returned to the southern African nation last year after attaining bachelor’s or master’s degrees.

At a ceremony held at the embassy late on Tuesday, Su awarded a US$58,000 grant to the Mozambican education sector as part of an initiative of the Chinese People’s Friendship with African Civil Society.

The ambassador added that Chinese companies operating in Mozambique have sought to integrate the workforce trained in China.
