A couple of Asian origin have been arrested in Swaziland for the alleged kidnapping of local businessman Olmar Oliveira who went missing two weeks ago.The duo of Ping Ming and his wife Hau Dao have appeared before Principal Magistrate Fikile Nhlabatsi facing five counts for kidnapping, possession of an unlicensed firearms and live ammunition.

Crown Counsel Buddy Masango informed the court of the need to acquire an interpreter for the two suspects citing language barrier as they had difficulty expressing themselves in English.

They are expected to appear in court again on Thursday pending setting of their trial date.

Oliveira was last seen before he closed his shop on April 16 in Matsapha near the Swazi capital Mbabane.

His car was found abandoned within his office premises with blood stains on the seats, something that created suspicion of kidnapping.

A US$82,000 reward has been put up by the police, his family and other businessmen for anyone who has information on his whereabouts.
