Egypt and Zambia are poised for improved ties as President Edgar Lungu begins a three-day visit to Cairo which ends on Thursday.Speaking at a press conference, the Zambian leader praised what he called his country’s strong relations with Egypt, dating back to 1964.
He said the two countries are cooperating in various spheres such as tourism, agriculture and security.
His visit saw the signing of important memoranda in all spheres of economic endeavors.
He noted that Zambia looks forward to increasing trade exchanges with Egypt.
Egyptian companies are into manufacturing in Zambia aside from a presence in the electricity, telecommunications and construction industries.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi said his country attaches particular importance to strengthening economic relations between the two countries.
