EU deploys 30 election observers in Kenya for August polls

The European Union (EU) has begun the deployment of 30 election observers across the country, in early readiness for the August 8 General Elections in Kenya.According to a statement issued on Tuesday, the 30 longterm observers are part of the EU’s Election Observation Mission to Kenya.

The observers to be deployed in various parts of Kenya will be in the country until the elections are over.

Kenya is gearing to hold the polls on August 8 with President Uhuru Kenyatta seeking a second and final term in office, and is to be challenged by the opposition coalition flagberarer Raila Odinga, who is making a fourth attempt at running for the presidency.
