Today September 6, is the date set aside by the world governing football body, FIFA, to reveal the names of those to normalise Cameroon’s football federation, Fecafoot.
The decision was made on August 23 by FIFA officials. According to FIFA, the decision to send an emergency management team which will run the Cameroon football federation, is due to the many “recent failed attempts … to reconcile the football stakeholders in Cameroon and overcome the current impasse.”
The new team, going by FIFA, will among other things “run the day-to-day operations of the body, revise the statutes of the regional and departmental leagues and ensure their conformity with the statutes of Fecafoot, identify the delegates of Fecafoot General Assembly as well as the regional and departmental leagues and oversee elections by next March to replace disputed polls in 2015 for the Cameroon federation board “.
Few days after FIFA’s decision, Tombi A Roko Sidiki, now former President of the Cameroon Football federation, Fecafoot, declared that he and his executives will accept Fifa’s decision which dismiss them off their functions at the federation.
