A fire incident yesterday November 16 has burnt down several offices of Cameroon’s National Assembly.
The fire was sighted around 10 pm and the ravaging flames is said to have invaded the 4th floor of the building, spreading to the 7th floor.
The building was heavily gutted down despite efforts from firefighters to quench the fire.
Yesterday’s fire incident, is happening two days after the opening of the 3rd ordinary session of the National Assembly. Reports say the hemicycle, which is on the 2nd floor of the building was not affected.
Pictures posted on social media appeared to show a large part of the building had been damaged.
There has so far been no indication of any casualties. The cause of the fire is still not known.
