One of Cameroon’s indomitable lions’ striker Joel Tagueu will not participate in the ongoing 2019 African Cup of Nations taking place in Egypt after an anomaly on his coronary artery was detected, reports from Fecafoot have said.
According to an information published on the official twitter account of the Cameroon Football Federation, Fecafoot, an anomaly of an implantation of a coronary artery was suspected in him in Qatar during medical screening and confirmed in Egypt.
The team’s doctor, Prof William Ngatchou says he risk sudden death if he goes to the pitch despite his health situation.
The account says an appeal has been filed to CAF for Joel to be replaced.
This situation comes barely 24 hours to Cameroon’s African cup opener against Guinea.
