Jean Louis Beh Mengue, former Director-General of Cameroon’s Telecommunications Regulatory Agency popularly known by its French acronym as ART, is the subject of an ongoing investigation from the special criminal court.
According to a release signed by court’s investigation unit, Jean Louis Beh Mengue is forbidden to leave the country since he is expected to be heard anytime soon.
Jean Louis Beh Mengue was dismissed on June 8 and replaced by the former secretary general of the Public Works Ministry, Philémon Zo’o Zame.
Many say the former director general had edgy relationship with his direct supervisor, the Ministry of Posts And Telecommunications, MINPOSTEL.
MINPOSTEL had accused Beh Mengue for granting a transitional title in 2016 to the operator Vodafone illegally. Beh Mengue is equally been pinned for numerous mistakes which cost the state billions.
