At least four soldiers were killed in Babungo, Ngoketunjia Division of the North West Region following a shoot out between security forces and armed men.
The shoot out is said to have started when the armed men attacked a convoy transporting the CPDM Member of parliament for Ngoketunjia Njingum Musa.
The politician was not hurt but four soldiers lost their lives in the shoot out and several others injured in the convoy around Baba I. A civilian is said to have been killed in the course of the cross fire.
The incident was just one of several incidents across the North West and South West regions with clashes recorded in Bamenda, the capital of the North West region on Tuesday evening.
On Wednesday, the there was also a shootout around Muea, in Buea, South West region as gunmen attacked soldiers leading a convoy of trucks out of the region.
This followed a tense atmosphere in Tole, a locality in Buea after a shootout between armed men and security forces to led to at least one civilian injured and residents fleeing to the bushes for safety.
