The French Ambassador to Cameroon Gilles Thibaut has called on Cameroonians come together and promote peace and harmony which the country has been widely noted for.
The French Diplomat made the call on Wednesday as he paid a visit to the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism to discuss on measures of fostering living together in Cameroon in the present socio-political context.
Ambassador Gilles Thibaut held discussions with Peter Mafany Musonge and the members of the Bilingualism commission where he called on them to be a proper mediator in ensuring all identities within the national territory are preserved and given their right.
Gilles Thibaut and the Bilingualism commission reviewed the body’s missions and actions carried out as well as plan of action for future activities.
They dwelled on the Commission’s tour in the various ministries and public structures to encourage bilingualism but most important, the Commission’s recent missions in the South West and North West Regions.
“It was the first time for me to come here. We talked on the missions of the commission and the duties they have carried so far in the various ministries and to the North West and South West regions and those to come,” Gille Thibaut said.
On France’s position on the crisis in the two English-speaking regions of the country, the Ambassador expressed France’s wish to see Cameroonians live together in peace and harmony for which the country has been known for.
