Gov’t allocates special funds for administrators to organise Presidential election

The Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji has allocated special funds to regional administrators to help cover the Presidential election.

The special support funds which amounts to 700 million will be shared to Governors, Secretaries of regions, Senior Divisional Officers, Divisional Officers and assistants.

Three million francs each will be distributed to governors as the top package while Divisional Officers will receive One million francs each.

The Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji had earlier urged the Governors to reinforce security in all the regions to ensure a hitch-free Presidential election on Sunday.

Cameroonians go to the poll on Sunday to elect their President as eight opposition candidates are challenging Paul Biya, 86, who is seeking a seventh term in office.
