Interpol after Ugandan counterfeit suspect held in Swaziland

A Ugandan national who has been arrested for counterfeit notes in Swaziland is also being wanted by the International Police Organisation (Interpol), APA learns here on Thursday.Dabiel Gitta is on the Interpol list of wanted suspects, a revelation that was made by Crown’s Counsel Nomkhosi Dlamini when the suspect applied for bail on Thursday.

Dlamini objected to the bail application and told the court that Gitta was a flight risk and was also on the Interpol list of wanted suspects for crimes he allegedly committed in his country of origin and other foreign countries including the United States.

“It is believed that he worked with a syndicate that swindled money from unsuspecting victims and also stole motor vehicles. It is also alleged that he committed a rape crime in New York,” said the Crown’s Counsel.

The bail application was heard by Principal Magistrate Fikile Nhlabatsi who remanded Gitta in custody pending his next court appearance next week.
